After the delay of the initial fixture, Abbey Rangers u16s were raring to go come Wednesday evening. Balyna were no walkover opponents though, they came down to Ballykelly for a battle.
Balyna came out the stronger team at the start. But thanks to the excellent defending of our half back line, Oisin O'Reilly, Brody Dunne and Tomas Dunne, Balyna went in at half time with just a two point advantage.
Balyna held their advantage throughout much of the second half but thanks to scores from Devan Abbey and a great one on one save by Tadhg Perry Abbey Rangers managed to stay in it. Abbey Rangers pushed on in the final minutes scoring 4 points un-answered to edge their way to victory. A man of the match performance from Kildangan's rising star Devan Abbey cannot go unnoticed after he scored 8 of the 12 points on the day whilst still finding time to double up with an outstanding performance in defense.
Final Score: Abbey Rangers 0.12 - 1.07 Balyna
Well done to the team and management.
