Hard luck to the Kildangan senior team who lost their season opener to Cappagh on Monday night.
The game was played in terrible weather which played a huge part on the quality of football played. The game was tight for the first half thanks to excellent defending by Eoin O’Fearghail and saves by Seán Fitzgearld. However, a sloppy goal by Cappagh gave them the advantage at half time.
Kildangan came out at half time raring to go. Cian Murtagh, Alan Donoher and Killian Scully all battled it out for Kildangan. In the full forward line, debutants Kevin McNally and Seán Behan proved useful. Kevin won some great balls whilst Seán Behan kicked two points and looks like an exciting prospect for the future. Unfortunately, Cappagh kicked on and won the game with some good point kicking.
