Game 1: Thursday, September 12th vs Athy (6:30pm) The first of our two fixtures in a tight three-day schedule took place at home against Athy, with a single 7-a-side game. Unfortunately, our team had a sluggish start, perhaps impacted by a bit of pre-match excitement and giddiness. Athy, on the other hand, came out strong and focused, quickly notching up some impressive scores, showcasing their sharpness from the start.

Despite the early setbacks, the team regrouped at halftime, and our young squad responded brilliantly in the second half. There was a noticeable improvement in both composure and competitiveness, as we managed to put some well-taken scores on the board. This game served as a valuable learning curve for our young side, and the effort and spirit shown in the second half was a testament to our young team's resilience.

Game 2: Saturday, September 14th vs Kilcullen (10:30am) With little time to rest, we returned to action on Saturday morning, facing Kilcullen at home in a pair of 7-a-side matches. Both games delivered a fantastic morning of entertainment, with end-to-end action and both teams eager to showcase their skills. There was no shortage of energy or competitiveness, as the play swung back and forth, each side creating chances and trading scores.

The second game of the week proved to be a step up, with both teams firing on all cylinders, demonstrating that our squad had learned quickly from Thursday’s experience. These two encounters, especially the exciting Saturday morning showdown, provided plenty of reasons for optimism as the players continue to develop and hone their skills.

Overall, the two games, just days apart, not only highlighted the great energy of our young stars but also the capacity for quick improvement.
