U12 Championship Final
Kildangan v St Laurences
Date: Saturday 30-11-24
Venue: St Laurences
Time: 11.45am
The clock is ticking down to our eagerly anticipated County Final for our U12 team. The green and gold jerseys are washed and neatly folded as we wait for what should be a real battle, but one we are well prepared for after our epic semi final with Monasterevin. The game takes place in St Laurences own back yard but that wont phase the Kildangan team in the slightest as we expect to bring a very big crowd with us for the game.
Kildangan go into the game as slight underdogs having come up just short in our most recent meeting with St Laurences. Having been 9 points down at half time we got the game back to 3 points at one stage in the second half before eventually losing by 6 points. We are taking belief in the fact we out scored them in the second half. We won 6 of our 7 Championship games with the only loss being to Saturdays opposition. With no stone left unturned we believe we can cause an upset on Saturday.
Our Path to the Final
U12 Championship Group B
Moorefield 1-6 Kildangan 4-4
Kildangan 7-5 Maynooth 1-4
Kill 1-2 Kildangan 4-5
U12 Championship Cup Group
Kildangan 2-6 Monasterevin 2-1
St Laurences 5-6 Kildangan 4-3
Kildangan 4-2 Kill 1-3
Semi Final
Kildangan 3-7 Monasterevin 2-6
Several people need to be thanked for their contributions to the team.
Firstly our generous sponsors:
Kildare Landscapes (Willie Fenlon)
Michelle Murray Hairdressing
Pauline Stynes Architectural Services
Junction 14 (Liam Fitzpatrick)
All those who helped out with the team over the years deserve credit also, particularly Martina and Padraig who have many of their U11's on the panel.
Others who have helped out with the team include John, Keegan, Nicola, Aaron and Dave. We appreciate your time and input.
A big thank you to the members of the Kildangan Senior Team who gave their time to hand out the new gloves and offer advice to the team on Wednesday evening.
To Rory, thanks for the photographs and social media over the year and especially for the great player profiles that were a hit with the kids ahead of the final.
Any finally to the kids who braved sub zero temperatures on Wednesday evening for their final kick around before the game, best of luck in the final. We are right behind you.
There's not much more to say other than see you all Saturday.
Lets bring it home......CILL DAINGIN ABÚ!
