We are thrilled to announce that Kildangan GAA club has received a grant approval of €73,634 under the Community Climate Action Fund (CCAF). This fund, jointly administered by Kildare County Council and the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications, will enable us to:
- Insulate the clubhouse
- Replace clubhouse doors and windows
- Install PV panels on the roof
- Build a small bike shelter
In addition, we have also received provisional approval for a Sports Capital Grant of €53,748 from the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. This grant will be used to install a walking track lighting system.
The next steps towards full grant approval include submitting project specifications, tenders, and quotes. Both grants are designated for the specific projects mentioned and will reimburse costs after the projects are initially funded and paid for by the club.
Our club committee is diligently working on an implementation plan to secure the necessary capital to fund these projects over the next two years.
Whilst the grants do allow us to do excellent work in the club there are a couple of key things to take away from this;
- The grants are only issued once the work is complete. This means that the club must first finance the projects ourselves before receiving reimbursement.
- The grants above are allocated to certain projects, meaning the grant money is solely for their approved use.
- The grants allow the club to carry out excellent work we otherwise couldn’t, as the grants are allocated, we will continue to carry out fundraisers throughout the year to help with the day to day running of the club.
Stay tuned for more updates and thank you for your continued support!
