Over the past three and a half years — and across four championships — our coaching team of Fergal, Gabriel, and Liam have guided our players every step of the way. Their time, dedication, and commitment to the team have gone far beyond what is ever seen on match days. From dark winter training sessions to long evenings planning, encouraging, and developing players, they have given everything to help the group progress.
Early in their time together, they made the brave and selfless decision to drop the team to reserve football. It was a move made not for short-term success, but to build for the future — giving our younger players the space and opportunity to grow in confidence and experience. That foresight has paid off: in those three and a half years, 14 players have made their championship debuts, strengthening the foundation of our club for years to come.
Beyond results, they focused on building habits — respect, hard work, and pride in the jersey. It’s a work in progress, but the standards they set will serve the group well.
Each of the three — Fergal, Gabriel, and Liam — are true stalwarts of Kildangan GAA. They’ve each been involved in every aspect of club life for many years: playing, coaching, volunteering, and supporting at every level. And, true to form, we know that even as this particular chapter closes, they will continue to give their time and energy to the club in the future.
On behalf of everyone in Kildangan GAA, we extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to our coaching team for their outstanding efforts, belief, and dedication. The time and care you have given to the players and the club have made a real and lasting impact — one that will be felt for many seasons to come.
