Valentine’s Day brings more than hearts and flowers this year — it brings the return of adult football and a special local derby as  our seniors take on  Ballykelly GFC  in the opening round of the 2026 Dowling Cup.

With throw-in at 2:30pm in Stephen O’Rourke Park on Saturday, 14th February, this is a fixture with real local meaning. Ballykelly and Kildangan are not just neighbours — but very closely linked through underage football, amalgamating together at U14, U16 and U18 level. Many of the lads lining out will have played alongside each other in recent years, which adds an extra edge and familiarity to this contest.

Pre-season work has been good, training has been sharp, and the panel is preparing for the first competitive outing of the year. The Dowling Cup is always an important marker early in the season. 

If you’re looking for a way to spend Valentine’s afternoon, come along and show your support for the lads and the club as we kick off the 2026 campaign - nothing more romantic!
