*Round 3 of the Minor League finishes in a defeat to Suncroft, 5-12 to Abbey Rangers 0-12*l

With the game switched to Kildangan it was hoped that the home advantage may work in the Abbey Rangers favour, however a very strong Suncroft side dominated the game from the start.

Suncroft opened the scoring with a very well taken goal that was moved through the Abbey Rangers defence at high speed.

Playing with a strong wind, Suncroft outplayed Abbey Rangers in the first half scoring 5-06 to 0-06

The Abbey Rangers boys were under pressure but started the second half with the first 2 points.

A much better effort saw a more even second half with both sides scoring a total of 6 points each for the half.

Best of the Abbey Rangers on the day were:

Tadhg Perry in goal making several brilliant saves.

Kevin Nolan and Jack Fagan in defence and Oisìn O’Reilly in mid field worked tirelessly against constant Suncroft attacks.

Dan Geoghegan who worked hard for the entire match and scored a wonderful 2 pointer.

Devan Abbey who played an excellent game scoring 0-08 points for Abbey Rangers.

Abbey Rangers are without a win after the first 3 rounds of the league, however hopes are high to get off the mark next week.
