Great win this evening for Abbey Rangers U14s against Moorefield in More O’Ferrall Park 💪
Sam Worrell got things off to a flying start with 1-1, followed by a lovely point from Oisín McWey. Moorefield responded with a point, but our defence—led by Aidan Casey and Seamie Fitzpatrick, with Ollie Mahon, Sean Gleeson, and Daragh Coughlan all working tirelessly—stood strong to shut down their attacks. Zach McNamara showed great work rate to set up Fionn McPaul for a well-taken goal, while Moorefield added another point. Josh O’Rourke then made his mark, scoring an impressive 1-2 before halftime, leaving the score at 4-4 to 0-2.
With a few players missing due to the Easter holidays, Rangers had to dig deep in the second half. Josh opened the half with a point, but Moorefield hit back with a goal. A brilliant link-up between Sam and Zach found Leon, who finished a superb goal.
Rory Grattan was outstanding in goals, pulling off several crucial saves, while Josh kept the scoreboard ticking over. Tadhg Adams made a vital clearance in the closing minutes to help secure the result.
The team worked tirelessly to come away with a well-earned win.
