It’s not quite how it is in the movies.
The famous line is “build it and they will come.”
Our version was simpler — we looked for people to come and build it.
And come they did.

Every evening this week, parents, players, children and coaches gave their time and energy to pick stones and prepare the new juvenile pitch. What started as a big job quickly became something more — a collective effort, a meitheal in every sense of the word.
There’s no glamour in it. It’s not how it looks on screen. It’s buckets, barrows, tired legs, mucky hands and long evenings,
We are privileged to have that kind of support.
A special word of thanks go to John Miller , John Kilbride and Liam Fitzpatrick, who were there every day from Sunday right through to this evening, driving things on at every session.

The hope now is that we’ll have children out playing on the pitch very shortly — we’ll keep everyone updated on that front over the coming days.
