Following another hugely successful Alan Mahon Community Event, Kildangan GAA would like to thank everyone who played a part in making the day such a success.

Given the weather conditions throughout the afternoon, there were moments when it looked like the event would face significant challenges. However, thanks to the efforts of an incredible group of volunteers and supporters, everything came together and the community once again responded in tremendous numbers.

A sincere thank you to all those who helped prepare the route, manage parking, steward the event, sell tickets, organise activities, pump water, cut hedges, erect and dismantle equipment, provide refreshments, bake cakes, serve food, supervise children’s activities and help in countless ways behind the scenes. Events such as this simply do not happen without the willingness of people to give their time and energy.

Thank you also to everyone who donated prizes, sponsored elements of the event, supported the fundraising activities and helped spread the word in advance.

A special word of thanks to Kildangan Stud for once again allowing access through what must be one of the most scenic 3k and 5k routes anywhere in Ireland.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended. Whether you ran, walked, cycled, travelled by bus, brought family members, supported friends or simply came along to enjoy the atmosphere, you helped create another memorable community occasion.

The Alan Mahon Community Event continues to be a wonderful example of what can be achieved when a community comes together, and Kildangan GAA is proud to play its part.
