The best week of summer at the Kildangan GAA Summer Camp ☀️💚💛
Great friends were made, fantastic skills were on display, and I’d say there were plenty of quiet evenings this week at home with some very tired legs! 😴⚽️🏐
None of this would be possible without our wonderful coaches, who gave their time so generously to make the camp happen. Many took annual leave or changed work shifts to be there, and we are incredibly grateful to:
Dan, John, Barry, Paul, Martina, Sarah Jane, Bryan, Jason, Ger, Declan & Liam. 👏
A huge thank you also to our brilliant teenagers who helped throughout the week:
Keela, Grace, Seamie, Senan, Katelyn, Áine, Nora, Tadhg & Annie. 💚💛
This year, we were also delighted to welcome some local heroes and heroines to the camp — Annie Torpey, Gearóid & Alanna Clare. 🏆
Our own Annie Torpey came through the underage ranks in Kildangan. Annie and Alanna recently won the U14 Leinster title with Kildare Ladies. Annie is a fantastic role model for our club and even helped coach our U6s on Friday. What a great example for our younger players! 👏
Gearóid Clare also brought some serious silverware to the camp after winning the Leinster title with the Kildare Minors. Gearóid and Alanna live just up the road, and their little sister Sinead & brother Sean play for Kildangan. Gearóid plays his club football with Moorefield, while Alanna plays with Round Towers.
The Clare family are fantastic supporters of our club, and we are so thankful to them for bringing their beautiful cups along for all the children to see.
